Joana Goncalves

My name is Joana and I come from La Chaux-de-Fonds. Since childhood, I have been drawn to art and creativity, and make-up has become my preferred means of expression.

I am self-taught, having learned by observing, experimenting and perfecting my techniques over the years. I create a variety of makeup looks, ranging from glamorous to darker or scarier creations, as well as more artistic transformations inspired, for example, by the world of fantastical creatures or painting.

What interests me most is meeting the person I am doing the make-up for: understanding their personality and desires, and suggesting a make-up look that enhances or transforms them according to the project. I enjoy both enhancing the natural beauty of a face and completely transforming it for a photo shoot, event or creative project.

My work is aimed at all ages and profiles. I particularly enjoy collaborating with photographers and models to see how light, setting and staging interact with my work.

In the future, I would like to develop my business further, participate in projects such as film shoots and fashion shows, and, in the longer term, create my own make-up brand.
