Katia Braunschweiler, born in Geneva, discovered the piano at the age of six and enrolled at the Geneva Conservatoire. From a very early age, music became a natural part of her life. At the age of twelve, she also explored the violin, but ultimately chose to devote herself entirely to the piano, which she began studying in depth in the pre-professional section at the age of just 14.
After obtaining her school-leaving certificate, for which she was awarded the Claparède Gymnasium Music Prize, she continued her training with Alan Weiss in Utrecht, then with Eckart Heiligers in Zurich, where she obtained several diplomas with distinction, including a Konzertdiplom with honours.
Her career has been enriched by masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Maria João Pires and Menahem Pressler, as well as by her participation in international festivals. A recipient of prizes and scholarships, she has built up solid stage experience as a soloist and chamber musician, performing across Europe, Asia and Canada, notably at the Tonhalle in Zurich, the Vredenburg in Utrecht, and aboard the ‘Queen Mary 2’.
A dedicated teacher, she taught in Geneva, Winterthur and Zurich before joining the Delémont Conservatoire in August 2020, where she teaches with passion, curiosity, confidence and enthusiasm.
At the same time, she organises salon concerts, offering an intimate, personal and deeply human musical experience.
